Museum Reopens

The Trustees for the Museum of Lead Mining are delighted to announce that the Museum will reopen on Saturday 31st March for the 2007 season. 

 

 

Wanlockhead Hostel Reopens

The Lotus Lodge Hostel in Wanlockhead has just reopened following closure by the Scottish Youth Hostel Association last year. The hostel has been fully refurbished and is now privately owned and run by Lisa and Richie. This is excellent news for the village and for tourists and visitors alike. The Museum wishes Lisa and Richie every success. Call them on 01659 74544 

 

Two Top Awards for The Museum of Scottish Lead Mining

 

The Museum has just been awarded Full Accreditation by the Museums, Libraries & Archives Association in January 2006 and is the first independent Scottish Museum to receive this prestigious recognition.

                                                                                   

The Museum of Scottish Lead Mining has also gained Investors in People recognition in December 2005 and is proud to be a member of the standard.
