South Lanarkshire Council have given notice that the B797 Abington to Leadhills road will be closed between its junction with the A702 at Abington and Leadhills Village from 7.30am on Monday 5 June for up to 10 days for resurfacing works.  An alternative route for visitors to the Museum of Lead Mining is to follow the A702 to Elvanfoot where you should turn right joining the B7040 to Leadhills. At Leadhills village turn left onto the B797 to Wanlockhead where the museum is located. Visitors using the A74 (M) may join the A702 from junction 14 or 15.
